I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor as well as a Certified Associate Counselor- Alcohol/Drug. I have been in the mental health and substance abuse fields for over 20 years. My education and experience have provided me with a strong foundation and understanding of mental health issues as well as drug and alcohol abuse related problems. I have experience working with a wide range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, etc. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational enhancement therapy, family therapy, short-term solution focused therapy, etc. These different approaches allow me to tailor the sessions to the unique needs of each individual.
I enjoy helping adolescents and adults whose lives have been impacted by depression, anxiety and/or the increased pressure to fit in or “succeed”. Women who are trying to find their way as they balance trying to be the “perfect” mom, daughter, friend, spouse along with possibly trying to balance their career goals.
I have worked with parents for over 20 years to help navigate the ever changing lingo and technology of the world of teenagers. Are you struggling with how to set limits while building a relationship with your pre-teen or teenager? Are you unsure if what you are doing is helping or hurting the situation? I can help.
I also help adults, teens, and parents who are impacted by a family member’s drug/alcohol problem or suffer from drug/alcohol problems themselves. I also work with families of addicts to find a balance between loving, enabling, and setting limits during such a difficult time.
I see clients for individual, couples, family and group therapy.
